Q: How do I know if I should register as
an Athlete, Coach, or Referee member?
A:
There is only one
type of AOMA memberhsip. AOMA members may participate as Athletes,
Coaches or Referees. The fee for AOMA membership is $14 regardless
of age. Coaches
and Officials must also complete the FREE online certification.
Q: How long does it take for me to receive my membership card?
A: When joining as an individual your AOMA membership card will
be emailed instantly upon completion of the Individual Membership Online
Registration. The AOMA Membership card will be sent to the email
supplied when registering. AOMA clubs that register their own students
will have their individual member’s AOMA membership cards emailed back
to the AOMA club that registered them within two weeks of the national
office receiving the individual students membership information.
Q: What do I do if I do not receive my membership card in the 4-6
weeks timeframe from joining at my AOMA club?
A: Please contact the AOMA
membership office and we will check to verify the correct address. We
can also verify when it has been emailed to your AOMA Club
that registered you. You can contact the membership office at
770-846-2009 or email
admin@aoma.us.
Q: How do I file for an insurance claim if I am injured at a
scheduled practice or organized tournament?
A: Call the AOMA membership office for a claim form. Upon
verification of membership you will receive a claim which you can send
directly to the Foy Insurance Company. It is very important to obtain a report documenting
the injury at the place where the injury occurred.
Q:
What is the fastest way to renew or sign up for
AOMA membership?
A: All individual members that are not attached to a AOMA Club
that requires all athletes, officials and coaches to join the AOMA must
register online. Once you register on-line you will receive your
membership at the email supplied when registering.. Check to make
sure your club is not a “AOMA Club”. If you are attached to an “AOMA
Club” you must register through your school and not online.
Q:
What do I do if I lose my membership card?
A: If you registered as an
individual and not through your school, click on the 'Replace
Membership Card' printer icon and another card will instantly be emailed to you.
If you joined AOMA through your school, contact your school.
Q:
Why do I have to be an AOMA member to coach my
competitor at a AOMA Event?
A: All
athletes, coaches, referees and volunteers at sanctioned AOMA events
must be an AOMA Member in order that the liability
insurance be in effect for that event.
Q:
Can I register by phone for membership?
A: No.
Individuals must register online. Clubs must register their club
and their students via the process
described on the ‘Membership’ page of the AOMA website.
